Instagram: su influencia en las creencias acerca de la imagen corpotal en estudiantes universitarios de psicología

Abstract

En sus inicios la red social Instagram se creó como una plataforma móvil de fotografía. Con el paso del tiempo fue modificándose y adaptándose a los nuevos requerimientos de los usuarios; por lo tanto, sus funciones en la actualidad son diversas, tal como la creación de posteos fotográficos y de videos, transmisiones online, creación de stories, mensajería direct y la creación de perfiles comerciales. Según Branch Group (2021) veintiún millones de argentinos usan Instagram, entre los cuales el 55% son mujeres y el 45%, hombres; el 13% pertenece a la población de jóvenes entre 18 y 25 años de edad. Esta red se caracteriza por mostrar contenidos diversos, teñidos de características agradables a la vista, para satisfacer los amplios gustos de los usuarios. Instagram (2022) destaca que dentro del marco de la pandemia por Covid-19 surgió como tendencia la vida fitness, primero desde cada casa y luego como un estilo de vida, en donde figuras públicas enseñaban sus rutinas de ejercicios, alimentación, entre otros hábitos saludables; y hubo una creciente ola de interés en la temática por el contexto en que se encontraba el mundo entero...
