Abstract

Technological progress and the massive arrival of certain messages on social networks contribute to the production of one of the most dangerous fears of these times: post-truth. Media discourses on Instagram, made by influencers or people with many followers, are spread without being based on concrete evidence. This is what motivates me to analyze what are the factors that determine the reliability of a speech and the variables that determine whether the receivers believe or disapprove their messages. Before, biases and emotions influenced the creation of post-truth. Today, users no longer occupy that passive place and begin to question that commented reality. The purpose of this work is to investigate the role of influencers, to break down the strategies of Ivana Nadal's discourse used on and during the COVID-19 pandemic, and to identify, in an exploratory way, the responses and effects caused on Instagram users and in society.
