Abstract

Для задачи самофокусировки мощного фемтосекундного лазерного излучения в оптической среде в приближении нелинейного уравнения Шредингера установлен критерий остановки коллапса интенсивности. На примере распространения фемтосекундного лазерного импульса в воздухе показано, что остановка коллапса происходит, когда возрастает роль дифракции вследствие уменьшения радиуса лазерного пучка, и не в точке, а на интервале перед координатой нелинейного фокуса, где фазовая самомодуляция излучения за счет плазменной нелинейности преобладает над фазовой модуляцией, вызванной керровской нелинейностью. Полученный результат (критерий остановки коллапса) позволяет учитывать особенности нелинейной активности различных оптических сред при распространении мощных фемтосекундных лазерных импульсов. В частности, определена роль нелинейного поглощения в рассматриваемых условиях
