ENVIRONMENTAL FEEDBACKS OF THE SUBALPINE ECOTONE SPECIES IN THE LANGTANG NATIONAL PARK, CENTRAL NEPAL HIMALAYA

Abstract
Herbaceous species of the subalpine ecotone are mostly influenced by canopy cover and soil organic carbon. Species such as Gentiana argentea, Geranium donianum, Kobresia sp., Potentilla griffithii, Rubia wallichiana, Rubus nepalensis, Thalictrum chelidonii and Thalictrum cultratum are supposed to be critically sensitive to local environmental conditions due to having narrow amplitude to both the analyzed environmental variables.
