Problems faced returning to work after cancer: a focus on breast cancer and its specificities

Introduction: Life after cancer is one of the major issues of the 2nd "Cancer Plan" in France. In this context, our study aims at analyzing professional consequences of breast cancer, which has a relatively good prognosis and is the most common cancer in the working population. Methods: Medical and professional information about 402 workers from the Paris region who had cancer in 2005/2006 was collected by occupational physicians using a self-administered questionnaire. Multifactorial analysis defined a pattern of difficulties faced by workers. Then, focusing on the 145 cases of breast cancer, we searched for predictive factors of these difficulties and specific...
