Abstract

Questions of art education are considered. The attention is paid to the rich artistic experience of ancient icon painters and their traditional system of knowledge transfer from master to apprentice. It is argued that this experience is not generalized, not described properly and therefore not taken into account in the development of contemporary artistic education standards. Studying the ancient artists’ experience made the author to think about the problems of education. The group and collective training, relationships between the students of different age, interdisciplinary relations, educational theories development became the objects of studying. The future artistic education in the author’s view has the following features: continuous three-level education provided in small study group of 4-6 people of different age (child, teenager, young man) etc. The necessity of working out a theory of artistic experience is proved. Its practical significance is seen in the fact that it may have application in the field of creative occupations training involving painting, interior design, music, choreography, cinema, TV, theater. Theory must also take into account the achievements in philosophy, literature, culture studies, history and other human sciences. The developing of teaching materials on its base will be possible
