Abstract

Pengiriman data melalui internet sangat erat kaitanya dengan keamanan, dengan menggunakan jaringan publik dapat terjadi pencurian data oleh orang yang tidak bertanggung jawab. Fakultas Teknologi Informasi (FTI) Universitas Kristen Satya Wacana (UKSW) memanfaatkan jaringan internet sebagai media dalam menjalankan tugas tugas kampus seperti file sharing, browsing, streaming, penukaran data antar kampus dan lain-lain. Dalam menjalankan tugas tugas kampus sering dihadapkan dengan permasalahan jaringan yaitu kinerja penukaran data melalui internet yang kurang baik. Penukaran data melalui internet sudah memperhatikan keamanan sebagai aspek yang penting salah satunya menggunakan teknologi dalam dunia internet sendiri adalah VPN atau Virtual Private Network, peneliti memfokuskan dua VPN yaitu OpenVPN GUI dan SoftEther VPN sebagai kinerja pengiriman data. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui kinerja OpenVPN GUI dengan SofthEther VPN . Untuk mengetahui kinerja pengiriman data secara cepat perlu dilakukan penelitian menggunakan parameter delay, Throughput dan waktu tranfer pada kondisi jaringan di FTI dan mendapatkan hasil Throughput SofthEther VPN lebih cepat dibandingkan OpenVPN GUI.

Sending data through the internet is very closely related to security, using the public network data theft can occur by people who are not responsible. Faculty of Information Technology (FIT) in Christian University Satya Wacana (CUSW) utilizing the Internet as a media in the campus to completing tasks such as file sharing, browsing, streaming, exchange data between the campus and others. In completing tasks of the campus network are often faced with the problem that the performance of data exchange via the Internet is not good enough. Exchange of data via the Internet has been attention to security as one important aspect in terms of the technology that the Internet is a VPN or Virtual Private Network, researchers focused two VPN is OpenVPN GUI and SoftEther VPN as delivery performance data. The purpose of this research was to determine the performance of OpenVPN GUI with SofthEther VPN. To determine the performance of rapid data delivery needs to conduct research using the parameter delay, throughput and transfer time on the network conditions at the Faculty of Information Technology (FIT) and SofthEther VPN Throughput get results faster than the OpenVPN GUI.
