A SOCIEDADE DO CONHECIMENTO E AS REFORMAS EDUCACIONAIS

Abstract

A atual revolução tecnológica vem impondo mudanças na economia, na cultura etc. É compreensí­vel que imponha mudanças também no sistema educacional, que, em quase todos os paí­ses, vive pressionado pela necessidade de adaptação. Nesse contexto, o conhecimento ganha cada vez mais importância, a ponto de muitos autores afirmarem que vivemos em uma sociedade do conhecimento. Não por acaso, uma das justificativas mais freqüentes para as recentes reformas educacionais, recorrentes em diversos paí­ses, é a necessidade de adaptação do sistema educativo à sociedade do conhecimento. Por isso este artigo busca compreender o significado desse conceito, estabelecendo sua genealogia e analisando-o criticamente. Enfim, vivemos numa sociedade do conhecimento ou da informação? Ou simplesmente subsistimos atônitos numa confusa sociedade de dados?
