Abstract

Автор, выпускница Исторического факультета Ленинградского государственного университета 1973 года, испытала переворот в ГДР осенью 1989 г. как очевидец, на должности директора Центрального Партийного Архива СЕПГ. Она описывает с личной точки зрения радикальные социальные изменения в Восточной Германии, в частности деиндустриализацию, смену элит и последствия этого для бывших граждан ГДР и ФРГ, для Европы и всего мира. В этом контексте обоснована необходимость изменения ее собственной карьеры. В центре внимания германо-советские/русские отношения (история и перспективы) и забота о сохранении мира в Европе и во всем мире.
