The article reveals the stages of information and their influence on the development of human society. Computerization is seen as an evolutionary stage. Information and economic revolution described as spasmodic stage of human development. The most significant factors hindering economic development in Russia: the absence of approved methods of economic analysis of intellectual property that hinders their commercialization and development of market information; lack of skills in new information technologies specialists in the field of management; underdeveloped innovation infrastructure. This article describes the reasons for increasing the value of information and information resources. Article notes that of the means of transmission of knowledge or data to become information resource production, means it changes the goods.
