Abstract

The article concerns an issue of renaming the geographical objects in the post-Soviet Kazakhstan and shows the struggle of Kazakh national patriots with Russian onomatology and toponymy. The author of the article explains the reasons for stronger Kazakh-oriented policy and minimization of reference to Russian elements. It provides the prospect of further fate of the Russian population in Kazakhstan and ethnic image of the country by the middle of this century.
