Abstract

The article analyzes the linguistic means used in the dialogical electoral discourse during the third US presidential debate of 2012. It is concluded that Barack Obama’s speech, made according to certain communicative strategies and tactics, was more considered from compositional-rhetorical point of view than that of the opponent and was highly persuasive. It contributed to Barack Obama’s victory in the debates.
