Abstract

To determine heart rate dynamics during a morning awakening and heart rate reactivity during a night sleep the patients with a sick sinus syndrome and the patients with paroxysms of atrial fibrillation as well as intact subjects have been diagnosed by means of Holter monitoring of electrocardiogram. In the patients with a sick sinus syndrome the speed of heart rate morning rise, the total number of heart rate "splashes" during a night sleep, the mean number of heart rate "splashes" in hour during a night sleep was less than in the patients with paroxysms of atrial fibrillation and the intact surveyed people. These values can be used as additional diagnostic criteria of a sick sinus syndrome.
