Abstract

Article is concerned with the analytical review of researches of processes of social influence on religious consciousness, which is important in current environment creating new opportunities for mass consciousness manipulating. In general the works presented by evolu-tionist, anthropological, culturological, sociological, psychological socio and cultural and psychological, ethnological, theological school of thought, prove the fact of universality of consciousness based on religious belief which is formed due to purposeful educational influence of the community. Theories of «social influence» and «social learning», the concept of«functional independence» of «religious system» from economic and political institutions, and phenomenological methods are used to justify these ideas. The authors come to the conclusion that there is common agreement that the religious consciousness formed by the society is to a certain extent independent from social environment and therefore subjectively perceives and reproduces information received in the result of social communications.
