Abstract

The article analyses the current trends of linguistic research as far as various genres of legal discourse are concerned. The article specifies the research theoretical background and introduces the methodology to analyse linguistic and cognitive aspects of argumentation in court decision texts. The analysis results in argumentative frames typology that takes into account dictum and modus functions in the utterances. Further on linguistic means to represent these functions in court decision texts are described.
