Abstract

Characteristics of folklore dialect phraseology figurativeness and proverbial expressions related to the war theme and symbolism of omens of war and calamities are described in the article. The role of traditional and latest images and symbols in the texts of Prikamye war folklore (in chastushkas and lyric songs) is examined. The analysis of conceptual meanings of folk war metaphors is given, their stylistic peculiarities are described and their connection with the Slavic archaic conceptions is revealed. It is deduced that archaic notions of war in late folklore war texts are preserved and active use of traditional symbols of Russian ritual and lyric poetry in them is traced.
