
This article is focused on the research conducted to study the foundation and professional activities of the vocational railway schools in the czarist Russia. It was such schools which used to provide Russian railway system with the paraprofessional technical staff. As an example of one of those first schools in Russia the author suggests Kovrov Vocational Railway School (Vladimir province) to analyze its sources of funds, its curriculum, students and their level of professional skills.
Статья посвящена исследованию деятельности профессионально-технических железнодорожных школ в царской России. Именно такие школы готовили технических работников для российской железнодорожной системы. Одной из первых железнодорожных школ в России стала организованная в 1874 г. Ковровская профессионально-техническая железнодорожная школа. Автором анализируется финансовая и учебная деятельность этого образовательного учреждения.
