Culturology as a science has a history of formation in Western and domestic scientific traditions. In our country it has attained the status of general education and special discipline in 1989. As the special discipling, it appeared almost simultaneously in centers, such as Moscow, St. Petersburg, Rostov-on-Don, Kemerovo. Culturology as a new discipline was introduced in the range of scientific specialties by the Ministry of Science and HAC of Russia in 1996 to be integrated as the synthesis of diverse knowledge of culture, “invaded” the subject field of philosophy and a range of social sciences and humanities. The original scientific problem of proper demarcation was a problem of methodology of culturology. The main problem, especially the culturological curriculum was its self-determination “in the labor market”. In 1990, Kemerovo State Institute of Culture established a new department of the theory and history of art. 19901993 were a time of its formation in relation to staffing, selection of the main professional focus. Initially dominated art criticism orientation, even the name of the department in 1990-1991 was different, the Theory and History of Art. Later training the specialist for high school, “Teacher of world culture”, was suggested and the primary version of the curriculum as well. Thus, initially it was planned to strengthen a culturological component of the department. Later the direction for the preparation of such a specialist 020600 “Culturology” and the qualification of the expert, “Culturology, teacher of world culture” were defined. In 1998, the first graduation of the culturologists, specialists of world culture took place. Total, in 1998-2013, there were trained 233 specialists of “Culturologic” qualification. Having selected the artistic culture for two decades as a basic direction of training the students, the chair was quite fit into the “mainstream” of national culturology, which was within the specified period, of course, humanitarian culturology, as opposed to socio-scientific program of its development. Specialties of the chair currently are developed dynamically. Since 2011, the chair have been training bachelors of culturology, defined the new professional “niche” of future graduates as “Socio-cultural design”. Selecting the new profile is caused by, at least three main reasons. First, socio-cultural design as one of the components of the national self-sufficient Applied Culturology allows “to enter” in foreign cultural studies space and imagine themselves as equal to scientific communities in Europe and America, actualizing the interdisciplinary research. Secondly, teaching staff of the department, choosing the new professional profile of culturology, guided practice-oriented content of FSES HPE direction 033000 “Culturology”. Hence the third reason flows inevitably for preferring this profile as the demand for professional culturologists in society. Profile “socio-cultural design” allows you to outline the contours of the real professional and, most importantly, the social demand “niche” of national culturology experts at both, regional and all-Russian level. In this department continues to develop the traditional cultural studies fundamental directions, allowing confidently speak about special Kemerovo culturological school.

Авторы прослеживают путь ее становления и изменения в контексте общей истории формирования отечественной культурологии.
