Abstract

In the experiment, the analysis of the reactions of osteoporotic bone on the introduction of the wire with diamond-like carbone coating compared to standard wire with medical steel was made. Immobilize osteoporosis was modeled in all the experimental animals (Wistar rats) with the amputation of one of the shin. Wire 0.8 mm was implanted to the tibial and femur metaphyses. All the animals were divided into two equal series: the implantation of standard steel wires and diamond-like carbon coated wires. Microscopy and morphometry of histological preparations was made, followed by statistical analysis of the data. In the first series detected the formation of fibrosus capsule around the wire, activation of bone resorption, an increase of the wire channel diameter. In the second series there was no reaction of the wire implantation to the bone: resorption and fibrosus capsule were not identified at the interface "bone wire", the diameter of the wire channel was corresponded to the original data.
