Abstract

The article is concerned with the problem of the parenthesis function in the German poetic text. Grammar peculiarities of the parenthesis and its stylistic facilities are considered. As syntax means of expression the parentheses take part in the rhythmical, metrical, structural and compositional segmentation of the poetic text. In the Goethe's poems the parentheses as two-member sentences are used more often and they display tight semantic link to the context space.
