Abstract

111 students aged 16-23 years diagnosed with adaptation disorder (AD) in comparison with 60 healthy students were studied. Five main groups of AD were determined in consideration with clinical presentations: depressive, anxious, depressive-anxious, somatized and behavioural reactions. Somatized and behavioural reactions along with affective manifestations were prevailing among students. Despite low degree of psychopathological symptoms manifestation among students with AD, their social functioning was significantly disturbed. Catamnesis study determined three outcome variants of AD: favouritable, unfavouritable and protragated. Importance of early AD diagnosis for the purpose of opportunely correction and amelioration are signified.
