Abstract

The paper presents the results of an experiment on the perception of spontaneous monologues texts in pink noise (-14, -16, -18, -20 dB). A group of trained listeners (n = 21) listened to monologues at various noise levels starting with the worst condition. The listeners’ task was to write down perceived words, then recover them using the original text. The recovered texts were evaluated in terms of their conformity with the essential characteristics of the text. For further analysis of the material the method of semantic predication developed by T.M.Dridze was used that allows to identify the primary and secondary semantic components of the texts. The research allowed to establish which of the semantic components of the texts can be determined using the word lists obtained in the listening experiment. The results may be useful in the study of perception of spontaneous texts in complicated conditions, as well as for determining peculiarities of semantic perception of texts by human.
