Abstract

The discourse of the text in the Buryat Geseriade and Anglo-Saxon epopee «Beowulf» is noted for the features of typological similarity, among which most prominent are ethnic and historical background, textual build-up, motifs and episodes, personages and their heroic deeds and other aspects. This all will be of great help in the analysis of linguistic peculiarities of both the epics which is to be completed as the next step in our endeavors.
