Abstract

The article presents the results of the empirical research on the social-demographic determinants of the person’s subjective well-being; the features of subjective well-being among the representatives of gender and age groups as well as the groups that are differentiable at the residential and educational status are considered. It is shown that the cognitive component of subjective well-being is more prone to the changes, emotional component less variable. The greatest influence on the severity of subjective well-being has the membership of the subjects to different gender groups, and location (urban / rural): women and urban residents are less satisfied with various aspects of life. The subjects’ belonging to the age and education groups, to a lesser extent, affects on the variability of the cognitive component of subjective well-being: with the years the satisfaction with six age spheres of life decreases and the tension increases; subjects with higher education are less satisfied with four spheres of life than subjects with secondary education.
