Abstract

One of the neglected issues of foreign policy of the Polish king John III Sobieski remains the one of the Iranian mission of 1675. The documents of the Russian resident in Poland Vasiliy Mikhaylovich Tyapkin can fll in present blanks defnitely. His papers not only allow reconstructing in details the ceremony of audience of an ambassador at the king’s court and some domestic moments of his stay in Poland in 1675 but also help specify some judgments of historians.
