Abstract

The article presents the results of neuropsychological studies of 134 healthy first-degree relatives of patients with Alzheimer’s disease (AD) compared with the control group (42 healthy subjects who have no relatives with Alzheimer’s disease). The study found features of cognitive functions in first-degree relatives of patients with Alzheimer’s disease. The deficits of kinetic and spatial praxis, optico-spatial activity, decrease in the volume of short-term auditory-verbal and visual memory were found. Significantly lower rates of voluntary attention, control and regulation of arbitrary activity were observed. The study shows that in respect of first-degree relatives of patients with Alzheimer’s disease, which are at risk for AD, comprehensive programs of correctional and rehabilitation measures aimed at preventing the progression of cognitive deficits should be carried out.
