Abstract

A complex analysis of actual forest fire statistics during the period from 1996 to 2011 is conducted in Kurgan region and also there is an analysis of indices, determining the possibility of fire and its spreading in forestry (such as: softwood content, natural fire hazard class distribution, vehicle access, population size, etc.) and the plan of forest fire zoning is put forward. The territory of the region is divided into 5 zones, 2 of which (West and East sub-boreal forest – forest-steppe) are characterized by moderate fire danger, the third one (forest-steppe) – by medium fire danger, the fourth one (North – forest steppe) – by high fire danger and the last one (Central) – by extreme fire danger. Fireproof arrangements are suggested for each zone, since their implementation will help to increase the efficiency of fire conservancy.
