Abstract

The comparative analysis of two poems «The Railway» and «On the Railroad» shows the distinction of poetry systems of N. A. Nekrasov and A. A. Fet. This discernment is most clearly revealed in the creation of various images of the lyrical subject as a form of expression of the author's consciousness «Homo sociologicus» (Nekrasov) and «Homo aestheticus» (Fet). N. A. Nekrasov and A. A. Fet professed contrast ideological convictions and different aesthetic principles. The author of the article concludes, that both poets opened new perspective for Russian literary, extending the sphere of lyrical representation and enriching Russian poetry by new techniques and means of artistic expression.
