
This critique is focused on teleological explanations as a language means of actualisation of teleological aspects of meaning in the English language publicistic discourse. Relying on various criteria and on expansive empirical material the author analyses the types, subtypes and functions of teleological explanations in the actualisation of the textual concept, which is viewed by the author as an equivalent of the final purpose.
Статья посвящена рассмотрению телеологических объяснений как языковых средств актуализации телеологических аспектов смысла в англоязычном публицистическом дискурсе. На основании различных критериев и на широком эмпирическом материале автор исследует типы, подтипы и функции телеологических объяснений в актуализации текстового концепта, рассматриваемого с определенной долей условности в качестве эквивалента финальной цели.
