The article describes the development of higher defectology education in connection with the transition to a tiered system of vocational training. The article is devoted to perspectives of higher defectology education in connection with the change of the FSES. It gives characteristics of the modern approach to the organization of training of specialists of defectology profile. The article describes an example of implementation of the course according to the student’ choice, to prepare a competent specialist.

Рассматривается вопрос развития высшего дефектологического образования в связи с переходом на уров-невую систему профессиональной подготовки. Раскрываются перспективы высшего дефектологического образования в связи с изменением ФГОС. Характеризуется современный подход к организации подготовки специалистов дефектологического профиля. Описывается пример внедрения в учебный план курса по выбору, призванного подготовить компетентного специалиста.
