Abstract

Results in modern sport are so high that reaching them, or just approaching to them becomes very difficult business demanding the persistent trainings with full mobilization of the forces and submission of a way of life to aspiration to the highest achievements. Many highly skilled athletes came to the level of the extreme physical capacities, and the success in competitions in many respects began to depend on the individual personal and mental characteristics of the competing athletes. As the purpose of this article has been directed to studying of the properties of the personality and motivation of the athletes, the research adapted widely the psychological techniques. In research, the sportswomen of the main Russian national team and the operating reserve on rescue and firefighting sport have been subjected to the psychology and pedagogical testing.
