Abstract

We analyzed the results of treatment of patients with lytic bone metastases. All patients received surgery to stabilize the affected segment of bone (intramedullary fixation, osteoplasty, vertebroplasty), in conjunction with the local action of zoledronic acid on the developed methodology. To standardize the clinical in different patients there were used scales allowing an assessment of the dynamics of the general condition of the patient and the level of pain syndrome. During our research all patients showed a clinical benefit from the treatment. In the postoperative period complications occurred in one patient and were cut short conservatively. Thus, the local effects of bisphosphonate in combination with the stabilization of the affected bone segment the method of treatment, allowing you to quickly reduce or to cut short pain syndrome and to stabilize the affected bone segment and thus improve the quality of life of patients with osteolytic metastases.
