The article highlights the theoretical researches of leading Russian criminologists on the issue of identifying specifics in the motivations of the behavior of women who have committed violent crimes. The article presents the development of the basic psychological concepts such as motive, motivation, motivation of behavior, and others in criminology at the beginning of the XXI century.

В статье рассмотрены теоретические исследования ведущих отечественных криминологов по проблеме выявления особенностей мотивации преступного поведения женщин, совершивших насильственные преступления. Представлен анализ развития основных психологических понятий, таких как мотив, мотивация, мотивация поведения и др., в криминологии в начале XXI в.
