Abstract

Methods of the assessment of sediment transport modes and mobility on the Kuban Basin Rivers are proposed. Based on the set of data comprising granulometric composition of the bed material, discharge measurements and long-term runoff data, channel-forming conditions are investigated for the specifi c river reaches of the Kuban Basin Rivers. Ranges of discharges corresponding to the different rate of the involvement of the bed material to the motion, as well as probability and long-term duration of these discharges are calculated.
