Abstract

This paper presents a study of one of culturally highly informative groups of phraseological units, those associated with the generalized integral value of thrift / extravagance. Lexicographic resources help to reveal the contribution this group of PUs makes in allowing insight into the speech community’s own culture and mentality.

Статье исследуется один из культурно значимых фразеологических пластов английского языка. Обращение к лексикографическим ресурсам позволяет сделать выводы о роли фразеологии этого разряда в раскрытии национально-культурной специфики англоязычной картины мира.
