Abstract

The Republic of Bashkortostan has been found to be a region with a high morbidity rate associated with zooanthropophylic trichophytosis. In clinical practice, diagnosis has until recently been carried out by means of trichophytosis microscopy and culture methods. In order to improve the efficiency of microscopy diagnosis in different types of mycoses, in the course of our trial, calcofluor white stain was used. In the investigation, the diagnostic accuracy of light and luminescent microscopy with calcofluor white in zooanthropophylic trichophytosis diagnosing was studied. Based on the obtained data, luminescent microscopy proved to be of greater efficacy in zooanthropophylic trichophytosis clinical diagnosing as compared to conventional light microscopy and can be recommended for use in general practice.
