Abstract

We analyze how Russian political writers described Japan, her military potential, and chances to win during Russo-Japanese war; and in what way conservative and liberal thinkers reacted on Japan military successes. We try to understand how contemporaries tried to insert unbearable for their imperial pride defeat from Japan in convenient image of the World.
