Abstract

The article analyzes the different types of East Slavic ballad songs which spread across the southern Russian Far East. Particular attention is paid to archaic forms that have survived to the present day in the Belarusian edition. Far East material obtained by the author in the folklore and ethnographic expeditions, supports the concept of heterogeneity of the genre.
