The article analyzes the existing methods of distinguishing the main activities of the region, in particular, defining the indicators of specialization of the regional economy. In order to justify the author''s approach to resolution of the aforesaid problem, the structural analysis of the production in the Tyumen region is carried out, and calculation of the market concentration coefficients is made, which allowed the author to identify the major and promising fields of activities.

В статье проанализированы существующие методы выделения основных видов деятельности региона, в частности определение показателей специализации экономики региона. Для обоснования авторского подхода к решению обозначенной проблемы дан структурный анализ производства Тюменской области и сделан расчет коэффициентов рыночной концентрации, что позволило автору назвать основные и перспективные виды деятельности области.
