In the article the analysis of the main mechanisms of socialization of personality imitation and identification as self-distinction from other and another has been made, their interrelation and role in attainment the personality’s selfidentity at all stages of life course have been revealed. The ratio between socialization and inculturation is considered on the basis of a general mechanism of personal self-identification.

В статье дан анализ основных механизмов социализации личности, раскрыта их взаимосвязь и роль в достижении личностной самоидентичности на всех этапах жизненного пути человека. Рассматривается соотношение социализации и инкультурации на основе общего для них механизма личностной самоидентификации.
