Abstract
Approved for public release; distribution is unlimited Maritime Interception Operations have become a core competency for United States naval vessels working in conjunction with coalition units in remote waters. An increased need for real-time communication networks exists that will bring VBSS and SOC Teams in contact with experts who can determine the urgency and threat levels of vessels at sea and possible targets on land. The ultimate objective is to deliver timely intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance necessary to achieve situational awareness by tactical and strategic decision makers throughout the chain of command.
