RGB Demultiplexer Based on Multicore Polymer Optical Fiber

Abstract
Wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) is a good solution for increasing data bitrate communication of multicore polymer optical fiber (MC-POF) based visible light communication (VLC) system. However, this solution requires adding more optical components to the system which can limit its performance. In order to solve this issue, we propose a new design for an RGB demultiplexer based on polycarbonate (PC) MC-POF structure. The new structure is based on replacing several air-holes areas with PC layers over the fiber length which enables controlling the light propagation direction between the pc layers.
