The Effect of Argon/Nitrogen Plasma Jet Irradiation on Optical Properties of Distilled Water

In this work the effect of atmospheric-pressure plasma jet irradiation on some properties of distilled water has been studied. Argon and nitrogen were used as the applied gasses in two similar experiments. The distilled water was irradiated by a cold argon/nitrogen plasma jet. The electrical conductivity, pH, and the absorbance of samples were measured before and after the irradiation of non-thermal plasma jet in various time durations. When the plasma jet was irradiated onto the samples, an absorbance spectral peak was observed at approximately 200 nm for both applied gasses.
