Abstract
Myths are the expression of a group’s unconscious. The genesis of a myth is the result of civilization’s experience and myth’s objective in past societies was to build a guide for social behavior. An important question is whether the characteristics of the myth or the characteristics of the modern thinking can be a good guide to fulfill the expectations of the modern city. The modern city, in order to reach the ultimate targets of the economic development, grows abnormally with monster-face ecological footprints, which, for the first time, set the civilization to be confronted with the carrying capacity of the ecosystems.
