Abstract
Milk or milk component-based drinks seem to possess many of the biological and physical properties desired for a saliva substitute. Milk contains two primary sources of protein, the caseins and whey.Alpha-Lactalbumin (α-LA) is one of the main proteins found in human and bovine milk whey. Glycomacropeptide is a major component of casein protein .α-La with antimicrobial properties have been reported as α-La yielded bactericidal peptides.
