Abstract
<p>The 2018 Cambridge Analytica scandal exposed the concern that current privacy regulation is not sufficient to regulate data. In response, this paper proposes a property-based solution, arguing that only by recognizing the property right toward data, a more comprehensive regulatory system can be established. Concerning the current development of the information society, property rights should be granted toward Data Analytical Products and databases.
