The main target of this bachelor thesis was to make literary research about every single housing system of laying hens and to compare a world production and consumption of eggs with the production and consumption in CZ. To compare eggs quality from different housing systems from the chemical, qualitative and nutritional point of view and to create a questionnaire dealing with a consumer’s approach to housing systems. Among housing systems there are forbidden conventional cages, after 2027 forbidden enriched cages, litter, aviaries, free–range or any other ecological housing system. From the survey was found out an increasing interest of consumers about welfare and the eggs origin, but obviously there is still missing a lack of education and critical thinking in this issue. Consumers are influenced by advertisement and campaign, and they often prefer eggs from small free–range systems than from any other housing systems because of increasing popularization of animal welfare.
