Abstract

У статті досліджено зовнішню політику США щодо КНР під час президентства Дж. Картера в 1980-1981 рр. Проаналізовані причини, хід та наслідки активізації зовнішньополітичної стратегії США щодо Китаю протягом періоду, що вивчається. Охарактеризовано практичну реалізацію зовнішньополітичних ініціатив адміністрації Дж. Картера у китайському напрямку 1980-1981 рр. Висвітлено позицію Білого Дому у протистоянні КНР–КР, а також конкретні зовнішньополітичні дії Вашингтону щодо Пекіну та Тайбею. Окреслено роль різних угрупувань в американському істеблішменті у процесі еволюції зовнішньополітичного курсу адміністрації президента США Дж. Картера щодо КНР у 1980-1981 рр. The article researches the US foreign policy towards the PRC during the presidency of James E. Carter in 1980–1981. The practical implementation of pre-election initiatives by the administration of the President James E. Carter in the Chinese direction in 1980–1981 was studied. There were analyzed reasons, course and consequences of intensification of Washington's foreign policy strategy towards Beijing during the investigated period. The role of various groups in the American establishment in the process of forming the foreign policy course of the new administration towards China in 1980–1981 is outlined. It is described the specific US foreign policy actions towards communist China of James E. Carter presidential period.
