Abstract
Master's thesis in Petroleum engineering Experimental study of wettability alteration was aimed at three laboratory designated chalk material, collected from the same reservoir block, at different initial water saturations (0%, 10%, and 40%). Crude oil sample with fixed Acid Number (AN=0.35 mgKOH/g) and Base Number (BN=0.20 mgKOH/g) was used to saturate and age the chalk cores at 50°C. Extensive acid and base number measurements of output oil was made during saturation to create a fingerprint of the wettability alteration processes.
