Abstract
Dissertação para obtenção do grau de Mestre em Nutrição Clínica Enquadramento: Verifica-se uma associação entre a hiperglicémia e, consequente, hiperinsulinemia e o aumento da incidência de diabetes mellitus tipo 2. Neste âmbito, a canela tem sido alvo de investigação por apresentar benefícios no metabolismo da glucose, associados a compostos polifenólicos. A sua adição a alimentos ricos em hidratos de carbono simples pode traduzir-se no controlo dos níveis de glicémia pós-pradial.
